In a Press Release, the Air Force Command Headquarters Explains the Matter Regarding the “Salvage Progress of the Missing Dassault Mirage 2000”.(December 4th, 2018)

The Air Force Command Headquarters has stated today (4th) that it has dispatched 566 groups and 569 units of various types of aircrafts to date to search for and rescue the Dassault Mirage 2000-5 fighter aircraft (model 2040) operated by major He Zi-yu that has gone missing during a training mission in the northern Taiwan airspace on November 7th 2017, and has commissioned professional salvage company to conduct 14 flight searches. Various components including the nose wheel, shock absorber, and engine parts are salvaged at the sea area 1.3 km away from where the dot has disappeared on the radar display, which are preliminary concluded to be the wreckage of the Dassault Mirage, although major He’s relevant items and the flight data recorder are still yet to be found.

The Air Force Command Headquarters has further stated that it has been continuously searching for major H and no. 2040 Dassault Mirage ever since the both of them have gone missing and has no given up hope; the partial fighter aircraft wreckage salvaged this time will be used as references for subsequent identification of cause.
